About Me

My background, qualifications, and why I do what I do

What drives me to be a personal trainer

McMillan PT was built around one clear belief. Training works best when it fits naturally into everyday life. Before becoming a personal trainer, I spent years working in trades, factories and shift based roles. Long days, physical work and changing routines were part of normal life. I understand how difficult it can be to find the time, energy or confidence to prioritise exercise when everything else already feels demanding.

My own training journey was never about extremes or gym culture. It was about building strength steadily, improving how I felt day to day and creating routines that were realistic enough to maintain. That experience is what led me into personal training.

Today, I work with people who want support that feels calm, practical and achievable. People who want to feel stronger, move better and build confidence without pressure or intimidation.

A personal and flexible approach to training

My beliefs

These values guide how I work and how I support every client. They shape the tone of our sessions, the structure of your plan and the standard of care you can expect.

01

Strength
is
personal

Strength means different things to different people. It might be starting again, building confidence or choosing to show up. I help you recognise what strength looks like for you and build it in a way that feels achievable.

02

Built
through
repetition

Lasting progress comes from repetition, not extremes. I focus on small, steady actions that build momentum over time. This creates routines you can rely on, even when energy levels or schedules change.

03

Clear
supportive
coaching

Support should feel calm, honest and dependable. Guidance is kept simple and focused, without overcomplicating the process. The aim is to help you move forward with confidence and clarity.

04

Trust
earned
daily

Trust is built through reliability and follow through. I do what I say I will do and stay accountable throughout the process. Every decision is shaped around your goals and needs.

05

Practical
and
human

I train people, not prototypes. There is no ego or performance driven coaching here. Just practical support that respects where someone is starting from and how they want to progress.
